Metabolic and Neural Protocols Redefine Training

Metabolic and neural training are causing a major shift in fitness thinking - which is no surprise based on the amazingly fast whole body results they deliver. Want to know more? Well, you’re in the right place: I just happen to be the authority on these dynamic new protocols.

As I said on the Home page, metabolic and neural training use specially stacked programs of compound, 3D exercises to activate as much of your body as possible. This high-density, multi-planar approach skyrockets your metabolism and gives you the benefits of strength, cardio, flexibility and balance training all in one short session. It basically turbo-charges your workouts!

The easiest way to understand the idea is to see it in action, which we’ll do soon courtesy of a recent appearance I made on NBC. But before we do that, there are a few points I’d like to make about this type of training. The first is it requires virtually no equipment. We’re targeting joint strengthening, balance, go muscle, not show muscle, so we don’t need a whole lot of gear. And definitely nothing that kills your gains like an ab roller or anything electric that vibrates!

The approach is based on advanced physical therapy concepts that exploit how your nervous system works. This is neural training. As well as making the exercises fun and easy to learn, neural training saves you from the injuries that often occur with other types of activity.

On the other hand, there is a huge variety of exercises, so you avoid neural adaptation and workout plateaus. This also prevents loss of motivation and allows easy scaling for multiple fitness levels from beginner to advanced.

Extended Calorie Burn

You’ll really appreciate the last point above when you watch the video. (Please press play.) I teach these techniques so they may look easy, but as Bill said, I was definitely shaking. How does that happen? Well, apart from the clues I’ve already given you, the key reason is the use of unstable surfaces. They activate a whole host of muscles standard workouts don’t reach.

I’d also like to point out two other things: the routine in the video is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg. I currently have a video database with over 400 exercises - many I created myself - and it’s still growing. The other thing is this type of training doesn’t require restrictive dieting. It is just not necessary when you are boosting your metabolism so effectively and efficiently.

I’m sure this all sounds pretty good so far, but I am about to put the icing on the cake: lactic acid production and EPOC (exercise post oxygen consumption). They may not sound so sweet, but anything that helps you burn calories for up to 72 hours after your workout has to be good, right?

These two create a major afterburn effect that means you continue to use a significant number of calories while you’re relaxing, or even sleeping. Compare this with standard cardio, where once you’re done, fat burning basically stops dead. You do get this effect with resistance workouts but metabolic and neural training take it to another level.

Ab Strength Concept

I hope this all makes sense so far. If it does, you’ll already know why I created Ab Strength despite there being seemingly hundreds of other programs out there. The answer is, of course, that just like metabolic and neural training, Ab Strength delivers something totally unique.

The fact that Ab Strength is based on these protocols immediately takes it a giant step beyond programs that tempt you with various flavors of the good old crunch. It also provides significant benefits over the small number of programs that do use progressive functional exercises.

Ab Strength’s other great advantage is its video format. I wonder what the person who first said a picture is worth a thousand words would say if they saw modern video. This is the reason I can give you so much valuable information in just five 10-minute take-anywhere modules.

And don’t forget Ab Strength includes a half-hour video that is virtually a physical therapy consultation as well as transcripted audios on nutrition and motivation plus an illustrated guide to core muscle balancing. If I have the opportunity to provide you with all these incredible resources, naturally I am going to do it! As I’ve said elsewhere, I’m all about taking the next step.
